There are a few different methods of air cleaning, like Filtration, Electro-static Precipitation and Ion Generation. Air filters are the best tools for eradicating allergens from the house.
There are four major types of air filters, depending on specific needs. They are:
Mechanical Filters
These filters force air through a special screen that traps pollen, dust particulate, smoke and air-borne irritants and pet dander. The best example of this type of filters is HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filter.
Gas Phase Filters
These air filters are used for removing odors and other types of pollutants such as gases from cooking, paints, perfume etc. These filters are not meant for the removal of allergens in the home.
Electronic Filters
In these types of filters, allergens are trapped through electrostatic precipitators with a fan. Electronic filters use electric charges to attract contaminants.
Hybrid Filters
These air filters combine electrostatic and mechanical filters. These are used to trap allergens rather than gas based contaminants.
Another type of air filters is the Ozone air filter, but it is not environment-friendly.

Koozie Looking for a fuel filter.?
I have seen in a truck stop a few years ago (actually bought a couple, worked fine). I would like to find them again. They looked like a beer Koozie, but more than a tight fit baldwin 970. They seemed to keep cold air out of the main filter and to help prevent fuel gelling. I think they were called Filterkoozies.
do not laugh, but we only use a pair of wool socks work and some duct tape to hold, works well

* Cough cough * What the devil is in my room?
I do not know if I have only one problem with dust or something, but since about 3 years I have had this dry cough that worsens over time. However, I have a cough when I enter my room. So few months ago I went to my doctor and he gave me asthma pump only needed when I was in my room. Who has stopped working for me, so I just bought an air purifier with UV and works very well. However, when I turn it off if you start to cough day and night. What was once only at night when I rest. Can it really be only dust? What else could this be? What test equipment at home should I buy?
Could it be mold somewhere. We moved New apartment and had similar problems with our son. He coughed every time we were at home, but stopped when we started. Even my husband and I have had strange problems, had the mental fog, while my husband had a headache that would also be comfortable when we left. At the same time, a branch w air filter and UV. Works well so that my children have become cons cough returned. We found mold under the kitchen sink. Apparently, Mold spores travel and follow the alternating current in all the time. We have progressed since then and we're all good now. Want to see the May Building disease. Good Luck
