haha yeah, it’s different on a couple of luxury cars… but usually people that have luxury cars don’t mind paying for labor/maintenance

I looked at a picture of a Porsche Carrera’s engine bay and it’s in the box to the right….that huge box with a pipe going to it, there is an oil cap next to it.

  15. mrjost55on 09 Sep 2010 at 3:50 pm 15

wow that was the best design I’ve seen besides engines with carbs. I replaced a filter on an RX350 and an Eclipse and it’s a bit of pain in the ass to open the cover since you gotta move and unscrew a couple of things to get to the filter element.

I have a 2000 Porsche Carrera and I’m looking at replacing my air filter myself. However, I can’t find it!! I looked in the owners manual, and it doesn’t give the location. I’m tired of taking my car into the dealership and having them bend me over every time I go in for what should be a simple operation. If anyone knows where this is located on my car, I would appreciate it. Thanks a bunch.

where abouts is the toyota yaris 2002 1.0 air filter? doese it even have 1?

  26. urbex2007on 09 Sep 2010 at 9:37 pm 26

@holysmokes700 Agreed, another usless video by ExpertVillage. We should rename them to something else to reflect the rubbish they are flooding youtube with. They never seem to check the technical aspects of anything, just throw a video together, upload and wait for the money to roll in from the number of views.

  27. urbex2007on 09 Sep 2010 at 10:16 pm 27

That is *NOT* a filter, it has huge holes in a much smaller surface area so sandblasts the engine and causes far more problems with a turbo charger. The quality of Expert Village videos is quite poor, they are just useless most of the time. Lots of wrong information. It seems they just flood youtube with any old video to get lots of views and generate income. I wish youtube would allow users to “vote to remove/delete” videos on the site, it would do us all a favour. RATED ZERO.

  33. bluberri25on 10 Sep 2010 at 1:33 am 33

yall need to pull the stick out of your asses..calm down its just a damn video..ridiculous

  34. indianssluggeron 10 Sep 2010 at 1:58 am 34

as a matter of fact, as long as your air filter hose is directed in a way that it won’t suck in hot air like for example right in the front of the hood it will breathe cold air it will suck in a tiny bit of hot air of the engine but thats going to happen no matter how you have the hose set up.

  35. Djfootball25on 10 Sep 2010 at 2:14 am 35

  40. layhaoon 10 Sep 2010 at 4:55 am 40

Surely a race filter only makes a difference at wide open throttle?

  41. urbex2007on 10 Sep 2010 at 5:34 am 41

It allows more UNFILTERED AIR to flow, it has a much smaller surface area than a paper filter. A paper filter actually FILTERS – but the car will never use the max airflow through a paper filter. The man does NOT know what he is talking about, he has been misled like thousands of others by a company selling to a boy racer market who will buy anything if you say it makes a crap car *FAST* ! Never believe all the advertising rubbish and fake tests, all these do is LOWER PERFORMANCE.

  42. stephenlowdenon 10 Sep 2010 at 6:15 am 42

not true, if your high air intake filter is sitting next to your sizzling hot engine, its going to obviously drag in hot air from around the engine. to prevent this, try air scoops or Ram-Air kits.

  43. emokiddy666on 10 Sep 2010 at 7:12 am 43

has anyone else got interesting views on air filters or car parts? cus it all just seems like your all here to talk about race, n stuff, not the subject at hand.

  44. emokiddy666on 10 Sep 2010 at 7:25 am 44

more air, more power, all u need to say man. but it doesnt make alot of difference unless your car is fuel injection. i got one of those on my car but ive got a carb.

  45. hoosipoweron 10 Sep 2010 at 7:33 am 45

    dont watch it then lol

  46. hoosipoweron 10 Sep 2010 at 7:35 am 46

you are a racist, because you classify insecurity by the colour of our skin lol, keep on telling yourself you aren’t lol……

  47. jinx20001on 10 Sep 2010 at 7:45 am 47

i should explain my comments, by insecure this is what i mean.

if you call a black person a black bastard, he will be offended by being called black.

however if you call a white dude a white bastard, he will be offended by being called a bastard. this shows that maybe the average black person is a little more racially insecure than the average white dude and race matters a little more to the black community.dont really matter tho.

again im not racist, this just seems to be the case.

  48. jinx20001on 10 Sep 2010 at 8:33 am 48

who brought race into it?? too many people care about skin colour like it means anything??

who cares what color the dude is, he has obviously been asked to speak a few words on camera and he gave it a shot, he isnt a broadcaster clearly but he gave it a go to benefit all of us so cut him a break and shut the fuck up about skin colour, by the way im white and as much as muh as i find the black race a little insecure, i dont agree with racism.

  49. ralex19on 10 Sep 2010 at 9:28 am 49

zzzzz…….. please go to public speaking classes or something.

  50. razejabon 10 Sep 2010 at 9:36 am 50
