Professional forgot to install a filter in the furnace.?

I had a UV light installed by American fresh air ducts and paid a lot for him ... was done again on 08 December. The new filter I had bought was the kind where u clean it every 6 months. Yesterday when I went to go see to the cleaning was not there! I have been having problems for months respiritory superior and had no idea?? Maybe that's why?? I have a 2 year old and 2 dogs home. I am the only person with filter access in the home ... I called the company and said to be out and put in a flite but I worry about anything else? In the absence of a filter in another for almost a year, you could have damage to my unit?? Please help.

A year without a filter is not good. You better have grids ventilation and air ducts cleaned, such as ducts collect dust and other things My wife has problems with asthma, so buy the best filter Hence I can find and replace every month.
