First off, fans are placed in front of transformers in order to cool them down, as if they get to hot the windings will eventually short out. Second, as far as high CFM fans are concerned, unless your machine can make more ozone then the air blown in it is senseless to blow more air in then necessary as all you will get is air, not ozone.

Electrostatic Precipitators are mostly used in commercial places. However, with the increased rate of pollution they are also being used in homes too. However, it was a good video. For more information on Commercial ESP's, visit : nitkorea.com

Interesting video. Too bad the video is incorrect though on paper filters. They are not good. A oil bath filter is simmilar to the cotton gauze life time filter that you have to clean and spray a oil film on to clean that is better than these toss away paper filters but yet a oil bath filter that has horse hair and motor oil filters the air way better and you get way better air flow and gas miliage over paper or cotton gauze.

@Milner62 NO. Oil bath filters are absolutely horrible for filtering, they are not NEARLY as efficient at trapping dirt as a paper filter. And cotton gauze is also pretty bad. PAper filters are best at filtering air.

@rudolphna54, and what proof do you have?

Oil Bath filters are basically the same as the cotton gauze filters but better because they use horse hairs that are coated in motor oil. Dust and dirt particles stick to the oil coated horse hairs. Same as the cotton gauze, dirt and dust sticks to the gauze and the oil helps.

If they are as bad as you say I wonder why every performance driver I seen uses cotton gauze filters.
