Replacing the air filter in the cab of a 2003 Honda Pilot?
No, not that simple. The problem with the 2003 model year (first year) is that the cabin air filter (sitting upright) is blocked by a horizontal piece of dash trim and a metal plate. It seems that he forgot to design engineers a good way to remove the cabin filter after the script is installed. It is necessary to first remove the glove box dropping down the road. There are clips on both sides of the glove box that holds the box in place. Once the glove box are removed or dropped, it is necessary to physically cut the piece of dash trim that covers the filter cabin access door. Cut the trim on either side .... it is an inch wide by 16 inches in length. This will not affect anything and will not be visible when the glove box is reinstalled as this adjustment was sitting behind the box. There is also a metal plate behind the plastic trim that is extracted through screws on each side. Once the seat and the metal plate is removed, remove the door you can open the filter and pull the old filter. Replace with new filter, reinstall metal plate and the glove compartment.
