air purifiers for asthmatics

What can we do to stop the smoky air in our home town, even when windows and doors closed?

We live in a row of houses and our next door neighbor smokes, somehow, even with the windows and doors closed, I can smell the smoke do it for us. Sometimes I wake up and my hair smells of cigarettes or smoke. I am asthmatic and highly allergic to smoke, I tried purifier air, but really does not handle the whole house. What can I do anything but move? I like where we live now and not yet used to be a problem unti recently. Suggestions? Thank you!

I really feel for your situation, and I moved in a house partly for this reason. If you feel comfortable talking to your neighbor, maybe you could do that first. Offer to give him / air purification, because well, it could be a win-win - and show your neighbor who is serious enough to negotiate. If this is in no mood to listen - Well, good luck.
