Ice on the AC unit outside?
Our air conditioner fan was blowing but not cooling. My roommate looked out, and the part of the CA that would have ice on it. I guess we have to wait for the ice to melt before turning on the AC again. (This is a unit of central air conditioning - and we did check the filter - is fine). What causes ice on the outside to create? Are there websites that do a good job of explain to a homeowner an average of how the AC?
Firstly what is the tstat set. if it is below its freeze ca 70. must set at no less than 70 years. Heres what to do check your air filter make sure it is clean, if you hold it to light and I can not see any light and then has to be replaced even a thin film of dust can cause it to freeze. Also see if the fan is running. if the fan does not turn on when the AC is on, replace the evaporator fan motor. Contact and I'm going to talk through in more detail.
