  I bought one of these about a year and 1/2 ago b/c it was cheaper then Sharper Images but was doubtful it would work well or for very long b/c it was cheaper.

  I placed it in my bedroom when I got home from work and let it work it’s magic, SILENT magic…it is really quiet!, while I sat in the living room. About 45 minutes later I decided to go check and make sure everything was going as it should. I turned the corner and the smell of fresh cool air hit me. It was SO nice! The only way I could describe the air is to say is smelled like mountain top air with a water fall near by. That’s how fresh and clean it smelled.

  Now, I’m thinking, “OK, it smells good, but is it really working?” I push a button and pull out the filter, yes, it’s THAT easy, and I can see little fuzzies of cat hair (I have two) and dust (I have a lot) clinging to the filter! WOW! It actually was cleaning the air!

  I promptly went out and bought them for every room in my house and I couldn’t be happier.

  There is one thing it does that some my consider bad but I like it. When the metal, re-usable filter is dirty and can’t hold anymore, the unit tends to make a rattling sound when you turn it on. Nothing loud but once you wipe off the filter, and it really is easy to clean, it doesn’t make the noise anymore.

  I will always have these, or this brand, in my house. I run all four of my every night when I go to bed and I’ve had them for about a year and 1/2 and and they are still going strong! I love them!!!

  I needed something to get rid of the musty smell from a very humid autumn here. Ordered after Christmas, but took about 10-days to get here (coming from west coast to the east, reason for delay?). Anyway, it works well and has pretty much eliminated the mustiness from the furniture in the living room. Have had it for a few weeks now. The only thing is during the warranty period, should it stop working, I have to box it up and pay for shipping, insurance, etc., AND send $20 for shipping back to me. I think that is a little excessive. If it stops working, I’ll probably just put the money toward something else. But, so far, so good!

  Made the air smell great. Cleaned out the dust I’m allergic to. Broke after about a year and a few months.

  I purchased this item specifically because I have two cats, and even with regular litter box maintenance, I’m pretty conscious of the smell. I hate being one of THOSE people, so something had to be done. After trying a couple other cheaper products, I came across this one, and all I can say is that it works perfectly.

  I use it in combination with one of those Glade plug-ins, and I swear it’s like the cats were never here. Oh sure, I can’t let the litter box go for forever either, but this product has by far taken care of the normal daily smell of the litter box.

  I highly recommend it to any fellow pet lovers, and while you’re at it, I’d suggest getting one of these too Glade PlugIns Scented Oil Fan with 2 Extra Outlets, Clean Linen , 1 kit

  Finally, I will just add that this product is far from silent, but it’s certainly no louder than you would expect out of a normal house fan.

  If you ask me, I give it two thumbs up!

  As others have commented, this product lasted about a year. It’s still going, but the blower motor is really loud and annoying now. I’ve contacted the company regarding purchasing another blower motor, but in the process, I discovered that you can get this same product directly from their website for literally HALF the price you can here! It’s $32.99 there, $64.99 here. Granted, you wouldn’t have Amazon’s stellar customer service, but I have to admit, I feel a bit ripped off after discovering this huge price difference.

  Despite it all, it is still a great product. I’ll keep everyone updated on any information I get back from them regarding replacing the fan (as opposed to buying a whole new unit).

  What the seller does not reveal is that this product is an “ionizer/ozonizer”. The owners manuel that comes with the product reveals the unit produces less than 0.05 ppm, 15 mg hr ozone gas. There is also a warning in the manuel that reads,”People with respiratory problems or lung disease should consult a physician before using this product.” I am allergic to dust and wanted an ionizer not an ozonizer. I would rather breathe dust than ozone gas that reeks of clorox smell. Clean, pure, fresh air is odorless,by the way, not reeking of clorox smell. see [...]. “EPA does not recommend air cleaning devices that produce the gas ozone. No agency of federal government has approved these devices for use in indoor occupied spaces. Ozone can cause health problems. Vendors and manufacturers make statements to lead one to think these devices are safe. They use misleading terms to describe ozone, such as “pure air” to suggest ozone is a healthy kind of oxygen. It is not. It is a toxic gas.” In this case, the vendor did not even reveal that the product is an “ionic tower with ozonizer” which is how it is described in the owners manuel.I would not have purchased the product had I known it was an ozonizer. The word ozone was never mentioned in the product description. I returned this product for a refund. They did refund price of product plus shipping, but did not refund my cost to return it to them.I suggest and recommend SPT SF-15301 Mini Tower Fan with Ionizer, sold by Amazon.com. It is an excellent product to remove airborne dust and leave the air clean, clear and odorless.
