One model that can make the air clean and safe is the Alen A350.

The Alen A350 is one of the main models of purifiers air. While not the lowest price I could find an air purifier, the price is well worth the function out of it. Another great feature of Alen A350 is that it has many different speeds and has a lot of space. You can simply mount the unit on a wall and put it to a cycle of 12 hours without having to worry about for it. The filter is located inside the A3550 Alen is a four in one filter. This lets you change the filter only needs one and still have an air purifier that protected with HEPA filters and three other filters. Unlike other air purifiers can only clean 400 square foot rooms, the Alen A350 can clean a room is as large as 800 square feet. This means you can have cleaner air without adding another air purifier to your home.

Air Purifier Technology For Your Home

Garry L. Neale asked:

Air purifiers are used to clean the air in homes, offices, and other closed spaces. People who suffer from allergies tend to use air purifiers because of the health benefits they afford, especially for asthmatics. The general public is turning toward the use of air purifiers as well, simply because of the health benefits associated with breathing cleaner air.

People spend most of their day inside, which is why the quality of indoor air is so important. On top of this fact, rooms are tightly sealed and don't allow enough air to flow freely. Studies have shown that indoor air quality is actually much worse than the air outside!

There are several types of pollutants that contribute to poor indoor air quality. Air purifiers have been designed to target dust, mold, spores, pollen, pet dander, and cigarette smoke. If you want to improve your overall health and well-being, installing a modern air purifier is probably a good idea.

A decent air purifier is not difficult to find. In fact, a large number of companies manufacture air cleaners and have a wide variety of models available for purchase. Of course, if you buy a higher quality air cleaner, it will do a much better job of cleaning the air. Quality air cleaners keep harmful elements, such as dust and bacteria, out of the air and eradicate any allergens that may be affecting you.

At first the cost of an air purifier may discourage you from making the purchase, but many people decide to make the investment in an air purifier in order to benefit from the positive long-term effects of having one installed in their home. The list of air purifiers on the market is a long one, so you will have a lot of choice when it comes time to purchase an air cleaner.

Read through air purifier reviews before making a final decision, so you can get to know what types of air cleaners are out there. Air purifier reviews are an excellent source of information. Also, you may want to make a few considerations before deciding to buy an air cleaner. For instance, what is the purpose of purchasing an air cleaner? Are you looking for air cleaners that will help you with allergy symptoms? How many rooms will need the use of the air cleaner?

Always take into account the needs of your household when deciding what air cleaners to consider. For example, an ionic breeze home air filter uses ions to purify the air, which is a great way to clean the air without making too much noise. An ionic breeze machine is one of the newer technologies to enter the market in the past few years - the ionizer is a clever component of this type of home air filter that makes it work so well. Without an ionizer, the ionic breeze device wouldn't be able to function as efficiently.

In general, air purifiers for homes come in many different forms, so you have to choose the one that's right for you, whether it be an ionic air purifier, or a HEPA filter device. HEPA filters are an advanced technology that claims to be able to remove up to 99.97% of the dust, pollen, mold, and bacteria within 0.3 microns. These filters compare quite well to ionic breeze purifiers. Ionic breeze purifiers are air purifiers for homes that many people choose over HEPA filters for the noise factor. Plus, an ionic air purifier is highly effective in small spaces.

Letting Our Children Interact With A Normal Environment

The human race has survived because we nurture our children for so many years. The danger lies in our becoming so over-protective that while stunting the natural curiosity of our youngsters, we stop their development on many different levels. There is no hard and fast rule as to what explorations we should allow or prohibit. Every parent struggles with this fine balance using his own set of criteria. Just look at how we treat our newborns.

Our first babies are treated with extreme care because we fear the common household bacteria which he may encounter. We provide him with his personal baby bath and all of the baby washcloths and bath blankets he can use. After stocking up on his special soaps and creams, we try to keep him as germ-free as our ingenuity can arrange. Many parents become hysterical at the sound of people coughing or sneezing within sixty feet of their newborn. They attempt to keep him in a sterile bubble as long as possible. Regular household linens are banned from his life, usually until the toddler stage.

But this approach must be relaxed after the first, very early days of the baby's home life. If he is to survive in this home, he must develop an immune system that can handle the normal germs around the house. Recent reports and recommendations from Doctors suggest the decrease in use of antibacterial products. This is because the only way to strengthen the immune system's defenses is to introduce normal pathogens to the body. Normal household linens will not harm a baby.

Lives are being saved by modern safety equipment for today's children. Most parents try to keep their children from dangers for as long as possible. The use of baby safety monitors keeps many a child from choking to death. Baby's early food supply is ideally breast milk. The development of the easy to use electric breast pump ensures baby's safe nutrition supply at all times. Transportation of children is now safer than ever because of the tough new regulations surrounding child car seats.

But parents must know that as the child grows, he has to tackle his environment with a little less regulation in order to learn by his mistakes. There is no use expecting children to learn what their limits are if they never get to make decisions. We must allow them to make mistakes.

No child will be permanently damaged by being temporarily rebuffed by his environment. He will learn to confront the problem. Then he has a chance to discover how to overcome it.

It is time to allow Junior to try climbing that back yard tree. Stick around and stay close. Encourage his efforts to conquer the climb. It will be worth patching up a skinned knee if he learns to test branch strength before going out on a limb.

The Cause of Asthma in Babies

Asthma is a chronic respiratory complication which affects thousands of children within the United States alone. This asthmatic population in children accounts for about the 10% of the total hospital visits and with about 3% being fatal. In infants and younger children, diagnosis and treatment is difficult because of the delicate nature that is involved and the lack of more advanced diagnosis processes. Not to mention that the symptoms that asthma can present itself in younger children also mimics the same symptoms that are related to other respiratory ailments.

While the exact asthma causes in babies are still undetermined until now. Further research and studies have brought about a myriad of new information that will possibly help doctors and pharmaceuticals alike in producing more effective treatments and medications. Studies have broken down the categories which are most likely to be considered as the main causes of asthma in babies. Here are the categories and the role that each of them play:

Genetics: Research has found substantial evidence that point to the involvement of genetics in causing asthma. This is due to the fact that a certain percentage of infants diagnosed with asthma share the condition with one of their immediate relatives. The involvement of multiple genetic factors has also been pointed out in causing asthma, which also explains the varying reactions between triggers and also treatments between infants.

Allergies: Allergies have been highly implicated in causing asthma among infants, but scientists are unable to really link asthma to allergies because there is also a high percentage of children with allergic tendencies which do not develop asthma and allergies alone cannot also explain all of the symptoms associated with the condition.

Early viral infections: While scientists have concluded that early viral respiratory infections cannot really account for causing asthma, it seems that there are also exceptions to this rule. Recent findings have shown that some viruses does have the capability to bring about the ailment, the Respiratory Syncytial Virus for example have been highly regarded as one of the main causes of asthma and pneumonia in infants.

Environment: Research has also found that the frequent exposure of infants to allergens in their environment (the home in particular) can also cause asthma. Certain household chemicals, dust and smoke have been highly considered by researchers as the main cause of bronchial inflammation and irritation. With long term exposure this constant irritation and inflammation can contribute to the development of asthma in infants.

To date, the research on asthma has brought about new medication and therapies that are more accurate and effective. But it is by no means complete; it actually is not even in its middle stages. With continuous research and development it will just be a matter of time before the real asthma causes in babies are found and the possible cure along with it.

Symptoms of Exercise Induced Asthma

Exercise induced asthma is the exacerbations that one might have during physical activities. It would seem that most asthmatics usually encounter EIA when undergoing activities that physical exertion. But there are cases where individuals only experience the asthma symptoms and attacks only when they are exercising. For more active individuals getting diagnosed with asthma or EIA can be very irritating as it can put limitations to the activities that you might enjoy.

Studies conclude that exercise induced asthma is caused mainly by rapid heat exchange, which is the process of heating and cooling of the respiratory system. During exercise, the amount of oxygen that gets into our body can be doubled in order to cope with the activity, by breathing faster our respiratory system dries quicker which leads our body to compensate by immediately by secreting fluids that will again moisten our airways, while for most people this might not really pose as a problem, for asthmatics it can lead to faster irritation and inflammation of the airways, giving way to flare-ups and attacks.

That is why doctors and trainers alike recommend that during any exercise it is important to breathe through the nose instead of the mouth so that exacerbations can be somewhat prevented. Symptoms of EIA include; shortness of breath which can experienced a few minutes before or after the workout or activity; coughing and wheezing which signifies that inflammation is already taking place making it more and more difficult to flow in and out of the system freely; and pain in the chest (not tightness), which can range from manageable to terrifying (mimics the feeling of having a heart attack).

While some of these symptoms cannot clearly indicate the severity of the attack that’s going to be taking place, it would be best to take immediate actions when any one of these is observed. Along with taking your rescue/relief medication you can also take precautionary measures that will ensure smooth workouts. Taking the time to warm up and cool down when starting and ending an activity can help. Another good tip would be to take your medication a few hours or minutes prior to exercise, this will also give you added protection from attacks as well as avoiding exercise when you have minor respiratory ailments like coughs and colds and exercising indoors when the weather is slightly chilly outside.

The last tip, staying indoors, this is due to the fact that research have found conclusive evidence that inhalation of cold and dry wind will most likely result to exacerbations and attacks, which also kinds of limit the sports that you might want to consider, ice hockey and any winter based sports for example have greater chances to pose problems for you as compared to jogging or swimming.

Asthma: Breathe for Relief

Asthma as most commonly known is a chronic respiratory ailment affecting millions of individuals all over the world. Up to now there is still lacking data as to what specifically are the asthma causes; and breathing may have something to do with it. Studies have been able to classify the main categories which cause asthma, breaking them down into genetics, allergies, environmental factors, and viruses. But alternative medicine has also pointed out one other factor which might be causing or worsening asthma; the way you breathe.

While the exact mechanisms are also unknown, alternative medicine has been able to point out a somewhat feasible explanation as to why breathing can cause or worsen conditions. It is explained that breathing or more accurately incorrect breathing practices (which is breathing using the chest) tends to indeed reinforce the upper chest muscles but in exchange weakens the other essential respiratory organs, namely the diaphragm and abdomen.

For non-asthmatics this may really not be a cause for concern since there is such little difference whether you breathe from your chest or from your diaphragm. But take into account the fact mentioned above, and that by weakening your lower respiratory organs, you won’t be able to maximize your lung capacity, which can mean lesser stamina, poor breath control and more susceptibility to allergens and viruses that can cause asthma.

For asthmatics breathing from your chest alone means that your chest will be the one to always take the brunt of attacks and also handle your breathing all throughout which by now you already know is not enough. So as you can see, alternative medical findings may also be on to something because in this explanation you can somewhat clearly see the relation between asthma causes and breathing.

Thankfully for those who are willing, you will still be able to reverse this erroneous breathing method allowing you to maximize lung functionality and thereby improve your way of life to a much greater extent, asthmatic or not. Established breathing methods like the Buteyko Breathing Method, Papworth, and Pranayama have been around for the longest time, helping individuals by teaching proper breathing techniques that are not only effective but also easy to master.

Although differing in core principles and the techniques that are being used, these three techniques have effectively proven the point that the way we breathe play a big factor in allaying or causing the condition in the first place. If you are interested in knowing more about asthma causes and breathing try browsing through the internet. There are a lot of information about it, and while you’re at it also check out the various breathing methods given, you might find the one and only alternative you’re looking for.

Gum That Sucker – Keep Your Teeth and You Will Not Have To!

The most common cause of tooth loss in adults is gum disease. It starts off mildly, with plaque building up on your teeth. Plaque that is left on your teeth, if not removed, then begins to irritate the gums. Well, actually, it is the harmful secretions of bacteria living under the plaque that do that.

The most insidious part of this process is when the plaque actually begins to get inside the gums, creating what is called pockets. This cannot be reached by a toothbrush and can barely be reached by floss.  In a manner of speaking, regular oral hygiene may not be enough at some point.  However, an oxygenated mouthwash such as Therabreath may be helpful.

People at risk for developing gum disease include those who are wearing braces, those who smoke, those with diabetes, those who are pregnant and undergoing hormonal changes and those who have relatives who were affected by this condition as well. Oramd could be something worth looking into - again, it is likely to be only part of the solution.

Limiting sweet snacks can help - but it is only part of the puzzle. It has been said that the average American usually consumes about 147 pounds of sugar in a year. That also translate to a lot more plaque building up on your teeth and gums. In addition to this, sugar is converted into acid by the plaque which then attacks your tooth structure.

Oral irrigation with a device such as the hydrofloss might also be helpful.

Healthy snacks can assist you with reducing your overall sugar intake. Raw vegetables, like celery can considerably help to lessen the amount of plaque that is in your mouth.

The Relationship Between Sinus Problems and Allergies

While we often assume sinus problems are due to viruses and infections, undiagnosed allergies or food sensitivities could also play a role in chronic sinus problems in many people. Many times food can be a hidden allergy, since people are not always aware the they are intolerant of a substance. Obviously, not all sinus problems are caused by food intolerance or environmental allergies, but for someone who cannot find any other explanation it is worth exploring further with your doctor.

It can be very difficult to determine if you are sensitive to allergens in your environment or if you may have a food intolerance. Most environmental allergic responses can be tested through scratch tests performed by a doctor, though this does not always show the best results. Food intolerance is very difficult to diagnose, especially when the reaction is one you cannot see. Blood testing can occasionally give doctors some clues if your body is producing antibodies against a particular food, but these tests are often inaccurate or inconclusive.

If you suspect your allergies may be environmental, such as due to dust or pets or another trigger, usually the only solution is to avoid contact with these things. Getting rid of microscopic particles such as dust can be especially challenging. Many people trying to get rid of dust mites can tell you it may be easier to just deal with allergies than constantly cleaning to keep dust mites away.

If you suspect you may be intolerant of a certain food, an elimination diet is one way to determine if any are causing symptoms. Avoiding foods that cause a reaction in the body can be challenging, especially when food plays such a vital role in many things we do. Many ingredient lists can be confusing or may not state whether they contain gluten or other common food allergen triggers. Especially difficult to avoid is a protein found in wheat, barley, and rye which is called gluten. Going gluten free many times can assist many people because intolerance can cause their body to not absorb nutrients necessary in staying healthy and fighting germs. When you have a food intolerance, it can affect your overall nutrition which can increase your risk to infections due to poor nutrition.

If you constantly seem to have sinus infections, talking to your doctor about allergies or food intolerance is a must before considering surgery or other advanced procedures. Even if you do not suspect you have allergies, you may still want to consider how often you are exposed to common triggers and try eliminating them from your environment or your diet. You may wish to try additional tests that are more thorough if your initial results are negative, just to be certain. A dietary consultant can also be beneficial in making sure your body gets the best nutrition for your sinuses, especially when eliminating common food triggers.

Be Careful Of This Disease…

Gum disease is an all-too common condition. But what really is the truth behind this condition and how can one prevent it?

While this disease is associated with tooth loss especially when it comes to senior adults, it is by no means a ‘natural part’ of aging. Good dental care and preventive measures can actually help an individual retain healthy gums and a good set of teeth well into old age.

It is not always true that people who have been afflicted with this condition are sloppy when it comes to their dental hygiene habits. In fact, some say that at least 80% of the population are susceptible to gum disease.

So genetic predisposition is one thing to consider instead of the usual regular brushing and flossing when it comes to gum disease. That is why it is important to get a screening so that preventive measures can be taken early on if you have genetic predisposition to gum diseases.

It is important that you inform your dentist immediately if you feel there are early symptoms of gum disease. While there are some who say that diseases of the gum tissue can be treated using antibiotics since they are usually bacterial in nature, there can be some side effects which can occur when dealing with medications.

Proper preventive measures and treatment need not also be associated with pain as there are now local anaesthesia and over the counter medications that can make your experience much better.

Keeping your natural teeth is healthier and costs a lot less than getting implants.  Not to mention that you don't have go through the pain and hassle of treatment.

How Food Allergies Are Diagnosed

There are so many completely different food allergies out there that it's difficult to create an actual count of them. Milk, soy, peanuts, wheat, eggs... and the list goes on and on. If you have reason to believe you have a food allergy, you ought to get to a doctor when possible to own yourself tested. What sort of tests can the doctor likely run? Keep reading to seek out out.

The first and most typical allergy check may be a basic skin test. The doctor will scratch or prick your skin with a needle (or needles) with a minute amount of the suspected substance(s). If your skin shows a reaction to the substance, then the allergy can be confirmed. The scratch might be a little painful, but it's nothing to be worried about.

While skin tests are successful in diagnosing several food allergies, typically the doctor might want to run more tests. In some cases, they will need to take a sample of your blood and check it directly for the antibodies to the food in question. Food allergies are an overreaction to a specific food's presence within the body. Your body believes the allergen to be an actual disease that is attacking you, and creates anti-bodies to launch a counterattack. These antibodies will be present in a sample of your blood.

Finally, the doctor may have you ever eat the suspected food in a controlled situation. This isn't that common, but is helpful for a few people. The doctor will have you ever eat more of the food, a very little bit a lot of each time, in order to work out what happens. This may provide the doctor a lot of info, but you ought to never try this on your own if you suspect you've got a food allergy, as it is too dangerous.

If you believe you've got a food allergy, you must stop consuming that individual food and see a doctor immediately. Food allergies are very dangerous, and can go from minor to severe in an unpredictably fast quantity of time. It is best to induce it sorted out when possible.
