Two children suffer from allergies, 1 had asthma, and our house is extremely dusty. Air Purifier can smell a litter?

Is there a type of air purifier to rid the room smell? I've been looking in the Sharper Image Ionic Breeze. I think switching to guns and hammers trash because many seem to say that works to get rid of odors. However, I lack a certain type of air purifier to buy this odor control. Thank you.
