We live in a comfortable suburban home with two domestic short hair cats and two dogs (a chihuahua cup tea and a beagle / dog mix). I would say I 6 months to a year maybe. I have a HEPA filter and take it out and use the vacuum cleaner to clean the dust filter. I think it lasts longer long this way.
